The Moore Norman Technology Center Foundation, Inc. was established in 1974 to foster and promote technology education, and to help students realize their dreams when financial difficulties can become a road block to academic and career success. Since its inception, the MNTC Foundation has grown to include a granting program for teachers as well as emergency funding for MNTC students or staff who face sudden hardship. A tax-deductible gift to the MNTC Foundation is a gift of a quality education and an investment in the future of our economy.

Choose Where Your Donations Go

Scholarships - Merit-based scholarships awarded to students who have exhibited outstanding leadership and professional skills in their MNTC class.

Emergency Funding - Available to any MNTC student or staff member in the event of a sudden loss of income or extreme hardship.

Grants to Teachers - Assist teachers in purchasing classroom supplies and equipment to enable them to teach their students more effectively. These funds can also be applied to tuition or training costs related to teaching.

Trustees

MNTC Foundation trustees may include up to 20 representatives of Moore and Norman banking institutions, chambers of commerce and business. Currently, MNTC’s Foundation has 17 trustees.

For Career Programs

The purpose of the Moore Norman Technology Center Foundation, Inc. is to provide funds needed by students pursuing career and technical training programs at MNTC.

Scholarships are awarded based on the need of the student and are approved by the Superintendent/CEO, Associate Superintendent or a representative of the Foundation. Students may apply more than once, but may only receive a total of $400.00 in MNTC Foundation Scholarship funds within a single school year.

How to apply for the Career Program Scholarship Assistance.

Guidelines

Awards are for an unmet need for school or an emergency situation that could place the student’s

completion of the program at risk.

Maximum award: $400.00 per school year.

A student may submit multiple Foundation scholarship applications; however, the total award per

scholarship year will not exceed $400.00 per student. The school year is from August through June.

Applications for the current school year will not be accepted after June 15.

Scholarship fund may be used for the following purposes:

1. Moore Norman Technology Center Tuition

2. Supplies

3. Equipment

4. Books

5. Testing and Certification Fees

6. Living expenses including, but not limited to: transportation, medical expenses, utility service, and

housing costs.

Students may qualify for an emergency gas card. See your MNTC Counselor for more information.

Scholarship fund may not be used for reimbursements.

The award check will be made payable to the school or vendor. No payment will be made directly to the student. Student eligibility criteria for an MNTC Foundation scholarship:

1. Have been accepted and making satisfactory progress in a long-term career program at Moore

Norman Technology Center.

2. Attending class at least twelve (12) hours per week.

3. Demonstrate hardship or financial need.

4. Complete the scholarship application, including a support statement from the student’s Teacher/

Instructor or Counselor.

5. Explain the need clearly and submit documentation of costs.

The award will be based on hardship/financial need. An applicant’s need may be determined by available income, employment status, dependency status, or other factors.

Instructions

Applicant must submit completed application (Sections I & II including a support statement) to the MNTC Superintendent’s office. Notification of the award will be made to the applicant within two (2) business days after receipt of the completed scholarship application in the Superintendent’s office.

Please read each section carefully to ensure that all information is complete before returning the scholarship application to the Superintendent’s office.

Section I: To be completed by student

A. Student must complete Section I of the scholarship application.

B. Notify Teacher/Instructor or Counselor to request a support statement to be submitted.

Section II: To be completed by Teacher/Instructor/Counselor

A. Teacher/Instructor or Counselor must complete and submit Section II of the scholarship application.

B. A support statement by the Teacher/Instructor or Counselor must accompany the

scholarship application to be considered complete.

Section III. Foundation Use Only

A. Forms are delivered to the professional assistant in the Superintendent’s/Administration

office for review by the Superintendent/CEO, Associate Superintendent or MNTC Foundation

representative.

B. Forms are delivered to the Foundation treasurer for processing of check or letter of

approval/denial.

C. Applicant will be notified within two (2) business days of approval/denial after receipt in

the Superintendent’s office.

D. The award check will be made payable to the school or vendor. No payment will be made

directly to the student.

Application

For Short Term Programs

The purpose of the Moore Norman Technology Center Foundation, Inc. is to provide funds needed by students pursuing career and technical training programs at MNTC.

HO-083 - Long Term Care Nurse Aide Flex - 104 Hours
HO-082 - Home Health / Long Term Care Aide Flex - 120 Hours

Scholarships are awarded based on the need of the student and are approved by the Superintendent/CEO, Associate Superintendent or a representative of the MNTC Foundation. The total scholarship award available per student is $400. Students are required to pay balance due for the class to complete enrollment.

How to apply for the Short Term Nurse Aide Scholarship Assistance.

Guidelines

Awards are for an unmet need for school or an emergency situation that could place the student’s

completion of the program at risk.

Maximum award: $300 while enrolled in or planning to enroll in HO 082 or HO 083 at MNTC.

The total award per student, will not exceed $300.00. The scholarship period for these programs begins at enrollment and ends with the completion of HO 082 or HO 083 class hours.

Scholarship fund may be used for the following purposes:

1. Moore Norman Technology Center Tuition

2. Supplies

3. Equipment

4. Books

5. Testing and Certification Fees

Scholarship funds may not be used for reimbursements.

The award check will be made payable to Moore Norman Technology Center. No payment will be made directly to the student.

Student eligibility criteria for an MNTC Foundation scholarship:

1. Enrolled in Home Health/Long-Term Care Aide Flex (HO 082) or Long-Term Care Nurse Aide Flex (HO 083) at Moore Norman Technology Center.

2. Demonstrate hardship or financial need.

3. Complete the scholarship form, including a support statement from the student’s MNTC Program Coordinator or Career Advisor/Counselor.

4. Explain the need clearly and submit documentation of costs.

Student is responsible for completing Section I and notifying Program Coordinator, Career Advisor, or Counselor.

Program Coordinator, Career Advisor, or Counselor is responsible for completing Section II, including a support statement.

The MNTC Foundation Food Pantry is a free food assistance service offered to current students (career program and short term) and current MNTC employees. There are not income requirements. Participants must complete an intake application to participate. The MNTC Foundation Food Pantry is sponsored by the MNTC Foundation in partnership with the Regional Food Bank.
