16 MNTC Students Awarded Tools Provided by MEPO
Students from Moore Norman Technology Center's Electrical Apprentice and Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) career programs were awarded a bucket of tools provided by the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing Organization (MEPO). Each bucket includes a Locke Supply hat, a 25’ tape measure with magnetic tip, a Yeti cup, an electrician’s tool pouch, a Klein 8N1 HVAC screwdriver and a pair of Klein wire strippers.
The 16 MNTC students that received the buckets of tools were selected based on their recent induction into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
MEPO is a nonprofit trade association in Oklahoma. They work to provide tools needed to succeed in the air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical and plumbing industries. When they have a certain number of members, they donate money for scholarships to go to future tradesmen.
MEPO raised $967 for a scholarship to provide MNTC students with tools that will help them be successful in the workforce. MNTC HVAC/R Instructor Danny Hogue worked with Locke Supply to provide the tools purchased at cost and included additional donations to stretch the scholarship dollars.
