Bond Earns Technology Schools Student of the Year Honor

MNTC Carpentry student Zackrey Bond was recently recognized by the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce as the Technology Schools Student of the Year from Moore Norman Technology Center.

Bond and many others who are students in public and technical education took honors in multiple categories and received their awards during the annual SOKC Chamber’s annual Excellence in Education awards banquet held at MNTC’s South Penn Campus last week.

Zackrey is a second-year MNTC Carpentry student and a senior at Moore High School. He was selected as the Norman Kiwanis Club Student of the Month for January 2019, is an active member of SkillsUSA and the National Technical Honor Society. While in the program he has earned an OSHA 10 and a General Induction Card and will graduate in May 2019. Zackrey has enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and because of his two years of technical training at MNTC, he will start at an E2 level and advance to E3 standing after boot camp this summer.
