Kiwanis & Rotary Clubs Select March MNTC Students of the Month

Moore Norman Technology Center students Jasmine Harris and Zoie Ford were selected as March Students of the Month for the Norman Kiwanis and Moore Rotary Clubs.

Ford is a Moore High School junior and an MNTC Physical Therapy Aide student. She is the Moore Rotary Club selection. Ford is an active member of the Future Health Professionals (HOSA) student organization and is a member of the National Technical Honor Society. She recently competed at the HOSA state competition where she finished fourth place in Healthy Lifestyle.

While in MNTC’s PTA program, Ford has earned her First Aid, CPR, HIPPA and social media certifications. She is also working to become a personal trainer when she turns 18. She is currently an intern at Therapy in Motion.

“I feel so lucky. Knowing that my hard work is paying off makes me more excited for my future. I love learning and it has made me work even harder for my future,” said Ford.

Ford graduates from the program in May and looks forward to working in physical therapy as she goes to college.

Jasmine Harris is an MNTC Medical Assisting student. She is the Norman Kiwanis Club selection. She is a member of the NTHS and is working towards her MA certification.

Harris said,

As an adult having this option is a blessing. I’ve tried college courses multiple times but I’m a more of hands-on learner. MNTC caters more to their students and that's helped me experience success.

Harris said her confidence has been boosted tremendously while in MNTC’s program believes that her instructor has gone above-and-beyond preparing her for the career field. She is currently a candidate to work as a MA at OU Health Physicians Dermatology Clinic.

Harris graduates from the program in May and looks forward to attending college. She looks at earning a master's in nursing at the University of North Texas.
