MNTC Celebrates National Career & Technical Education Month®

Throughout the month of February, MNTC will join the U.S. in recognizing Career and Technical Education Month® to celebrate the value of CTE, and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country.

CTE encompasses 94 percent of high school students and 13 million postsecondary students in the United States and includes high schools, career centers, community and technical colleges, four-year universities and more. CTE is a major part of the solution to myriad national economic and workforce problems, such as high school dropout rates, a weakened economy, global competitiveness, layoffs, and the growing skills gap. At a time when the opportunity for employment is critical, CTE programs in every community ensure that students have the technical skills to successfully enter and remain in the workforce.

Established in 1972, Moore Norman Technology Center is one of 29 career and technical educational institutions within Oklahoma’s globally-recognized CareerTech System. Serving the central Oklahoma communities of Norman, Moore and south Oklahoma City, MNTC provides high school and adult students a quality, affordable technical career education in the areas of health, technical trades, and business & information systems. MNTC also provides business and industry training and certification to help area companies shore up their workforce and achieve their business goals.
