Moore Norman Technology Center’s Business Development Center is starting a new Grow and Go professional development series, with its first summer learning session from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 20 at the South Penn Campus located on the corner of SW 134th and South Penn Ave. The cost is $19 and includes lunch.
The June session, titled “Don’t Eat That Donut!” focuses on professional and workplace ethics and potential misconduct. There will be discussion, tips, and ideas to keep companies and employees on solid ethical ground. Session presenter Kim Poff specializes in organization management, training and development, project management and process improvement. She also facilitates workplace and community outreach learning modules.
BDC Coordinator Gina Bertoletti said:
These new professional development sessions cover topics that Moore Norman is frequently asked to present on. A summer learning option seemed to be the best time to get it started.
“The topics are relative to all businesses and the atmosphere will be less formal than typical professional development can tend to be. We’re really excited to provide them and they’re great for our small business community and frontline managers.”
Subsequent Grow and Go sessions include “Feedback is Another F Word” set for July 18 which will focus on embracing feedback to move toward improvements in processes and innovation. The August 15 session is “Jekyll and Hyde: What’s Your Leadership Personality?” and is designed to help attendees identify their leadership behaviors and discover how they can positively or negatively impact team members and productivity.
