Article provided by businesswire.com

(LAS VEGAS, Nev.) Nov. 20, 2019 — Info-Tech Research Group recently announced the 2019 Info-Tech CIO award winners at Info-Tech LIVE, held in Las Vegas Nov. 19-21. Moore Norman Technology Center's Chief Officer of Business & Operations Jim Smith was honored as an Outstanding IT Leader Who Delivers Business Value.

During the Info-Tech CIO awards ceremony, outstanding CIOs were honored based on unbiased data from the Info-Tech CIO Business Vision survey, a powerful tool that formalizes IT feedback and delivers a standard to measure great CIO leadership. This year’s annual survey captured feedback from 16,500 business leaders and measures stakeholder satisfaction with IT.

Vice President of Product Development and Innovation for Info-Tech Research Group Geoff Nielson said, "The Info-Tech CIO awards focus on the most vital aspect of any IT leader’s success, which is stakeholder satisfaction. The recipients of these awards are not determined by the subjective opinions of any awards committee, instead, the IT satisfaction and value scores are evaluated by the recipients’ direct business stakeholders."

Smith served as MNTC Director of IT for 10 years before being recently promoted to his current role. He said,

I feel gratified to have been known within our organization for delivering business value in a way that compares so favorably with others. This was an unexpected honor for me and our IT Services group.

Smith said his primary goal as director of IT Services was to understand the needs of all customers, whether students, clients, faculty or staff, in order to fulfill the role of being a high-performing, customer-service organization.

This year’s CIO award winners represent large enterprises as well as small and medium- sized organizations.
