For 50 years, Moore Norman Technology Center (MNTC) has been a beacon of innovation, offering career and technical training programs tailored to our community’s evolving needs. Thanks to the pioneering mindset of our inaugural superintendent, Clovis Weatherford, MNTC was founded on a model of adaptability. In 1972, guided by his visionary leadership, MNTC emerged as a trailblazer, becoming one of the first career techs in the state to use local demographic data to project upcoming growth areas and shape training programs accordingly.

Half a century later, MNTC continues to play a pivotal role in bolstering Oklahoma's workforce, fostering economic progress and cultivating a pipeline of highly skilled workers who are ready to fill high-wage, in-demand jobs. From health care and construction trades to public safety and aerospace, our diverse range of programs are designed to provide practical, hands-on training to serve the ever-changing needs of Oklahomans.

Within the heart of MNTC’s 50-year journey lies our valued partnerships with business and industry, as well as the Moore and Norman school districts. Bridging education and industry, we create pathways to fulfilling careers and drive local economic growth. Collaborating with public schools, police and fire departments, hospitals and other industry leaders, we continue to launch innovative training programs readying students for highly sought-after jobs in transportation, public safety, healthcare and aviation sectors.

As we celebrate our 50^th anniversary, I’m honored to help carry forward MNTC’s legacy of innovation and commitment to fostering talent. The opening of the Oklahoma Aviation Academy and the launch of our Aviation Maintenance Technician Program are the most recent examples of how we are continuing MNTC’s vision of progress and growth established a half century ago. With a firm foundation routed in excellence and an eye to future opportunities for our community’s workforce, I’m excited to usher in the decades ahead—preparing for success, changing lives and building better tomorrows.
