SOKC Chamber Honors Marshall

Moore Norman Technology Center Executive Director of Quality Services Dr. Karla Marshall was honored with the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of The Year award last week during their annual banquet.

Marshall said, “I feel very humble to receive this award as there are many people who also volunteer and give their time to their communities. I believe volunteering is a service we pay forward, and it is such a privilege to be able to serve the community.”

Marshall is in her 28th year of employment with MNTC and over the years has served or led various professional committees. Her volunteer work includes programs with not only the SOKC Chamber, but also with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, with the OK Quality Award Foundation and with Integris Southwest Medical Center. She has championed legislative activities both at work and within the Moore community and is an active volunteer in her church, as well.

Marshall attends many SOKC Chamber events and activities and volunteers to contact and welcome new chamber members. She also works with existing chamber members to identify how their chamber membership can be of benefit to them and help them reach their business goals.

South Oklahoma City Chamber President Elaine Lyons said of the banquet award winners, “I am continually impressed with the vitality of our city and the passionate and giving people in it. It was a magnificent evening we were able to honor those who strive to improve our community and recognize the leaders among us who will certainly empower 2019.”
