MNTC Announces February 2026 Student of the Month

Congratulations to MNTC Physical Therapy Services student Katie Johns, the February Moore Norman Technology Center Foundation Student of the Month. Katie is recognized for her outstanding character, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Instructor Frank Romero praised Katie for taking full accountability for her work and approaching every task with responsibility, honesty, and determination. He also noted her genuine concern for others, as she consistently encourages classmates and helps create a positive, welcoming learning environment.

Despite the demands of being a member of the Southmoore High School Band, Katie maintains perfect attendance, strong grades, and high-quality work in the Physical Therapy Services program. She balances high school, her Moore Norman program, and even her own bakery business with impressive organization and maturity.

A natural leader with a heart for service, Katie recently helped lead an effort to adopt three families for Christmas. After presenting the idea, her class voted to use fundraising earnings to purchase gifts for these families. She secured additional support from a local occupational therapy clinic to supplement the class’s efforts, further expanding the impact they were able to make in the community.

After completing the program, Katie hopes to work in a physical therapy clinic while exploring a future career in education or another child-centered field. As Mr. Romero shared, “If I were to select the ideal candidate for a future in the medical field, Katie would undoubtedly be one of the first students I would seek out.”

Representatives from the MNTC Foundation, Tinker Federal Credit Union, and district administrators surprised Katie with the announcement in her classroom.
