MNTC Automotive Service Technology student Patrick Simms has been selected as the Moore Norman Technology Center Foundation Adult Student of the Month in January for exemplifying MNTC’s core values through his accountability, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.

 

Nominated by his MNTC Auto Service Technology instructor Albert Zoll, Patrick consistently completes assignments and lab work early with exceptional attention to detail and openness to feedback and data which he uses to continuously improve. 

Respected by both peers and instructors, Patrick values people by supporting classmates, encouraging teamwork, and setting a positive tone in the lab through his reliability and strong work ethic.

Patrick balances MNTC coursework with college classes and the equivalent of a full-time job, while setting an example of quiet leadership and genuine curiosity in the classroom. He plans to continue his education at the University of Oklahoma, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, with the goal of combining his automotive training with engineering in the field. 

Patrick’s drive, maturity, and passion for learning make him an outstanding representative of MNTC—and a well-deserving January honoree.

Representatives from the MNTC Foundation, Tinker Federal Credit Union, and district administrators surprised Patrick with the announcement during a classroom visit.

The Moore Norman Technology Center Foundation, Inc. was established in 1974 to foster and promote career and technical education, and to help students realize their dreams when financial difficulties can become a roadblock to academic and career success. Since its inception, the MNTC Foundation has grown to include a granting program for teachers as well as emergency funding for MNTC students or staff who face sudden hardship.
