Taught by a licensed electrical contractor, this program provides the skills needed for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work, with apprenticeship hours counting toward your journeyman’s license.
Successfully complete the EPA Section 608 Certification of the Federal Clean Air Act for handling regulated refrigerants exam. Content includes Core, Type I, Type II, Type III, and Universal. Upon enrollment, you will receive a preparatory manual, study guide, and access to free online practice exams. Class format includes lecture and open discussion with NO hands-on recovery training.
This comprehensive 100-hour Home Inspector course is designed to help you meet state licensure requirements and gain the skills needed to perform professional home inspections with confidence. Learn how to assess key home components—structural elements, roofing, electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC—while developing the expertise to spot potential issues and provide clients with detailed, high-quality inspection reports.
In HVAC/R I, students study the fundamental principles of electricity. This will include: the magic of transformers, electric motors, gas and electric heat, and how to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams. Students will obtain valuable hands-on experience in troubleshooting and servicing motors, compressors, controls, and equipment they will encounter on a daily basis.
HVAC/R II dives into refrigeration cycles, system performance analysis, and advanced troubleshooting techniques. Students gain hands-on experience with refrigerant handling, system diagnostics, and servicing commercial and residential HVAC systems. This course prepares students for more complex industry challenges and helps them take the next step toward a career as a licensed HVAC professional. Pre-requisite: Successful completion on HVAC/R I
This course provides HVAC technicians with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in sheet metal fabrication, a crucial aspect of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Participants will learn the principles of working with sheet metal, including cutting, bending, shaping, and joining techniques.
This course covers basic welding skills and provides a foundation for further training toward industrial welding skills. Safe use of equipment is emphasized. Students will receive basic instruction and participate in hands-on expereinces using oxyfuel welding and cutting, shielded metal arc welding and gas metal arc welding.
Learn advanced machine setups including threading, boring, and tapering on the engine lathe, as well as cutting angles, milling slots, and forming hex shapes on the Bridgeport mill. Students will be challenged to complete projects to print specifications and meet deadlines, preparing them for real shop conditions and earning an additional certificate upon successful completion.
Embark on a journey through the fundamentals of machining in our intensive 48-hour course. Delve into the origins of everyday products as you gain hands-on experience with essential tools, including the lathe, milling machine, drill press, power saw, and bench grinder.
In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding procedures and techniques. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Intro to Welding.
This evening welding course is designed to introduce students to basic welding skills and provides a foundation for further training toward industrial welding skills. Safe use of equipment is emphasized. Students will receive basic instruction and participate in hands-on experiences using oxyfuel welding and cutting, shielded metal arc welding and gas metal arc welding (MIG), Fluxed core arc welding (FCAW), and Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG).
Once students successfully complete the first semester of the evening welding program, a process specific pathway will be chosen from one of the following advanced code specific options: • SMAW (AWS D1.1, API 1104, ASME Section IX) • FCAW (AWS D1.1 & ASME Section IX) Concentration specific training focuses on advance techniques to provide more in-depth theory and hands-on skilled training in these areas to acquire an industry certification.
