School Bus-Class B Truck Driver Training

This training program is designed to prepare new bus drivers for the CDL skills exam and to obtain the Oklahoma State Department of Education (SDE) School Bus Driver Certification.
 
The class includes a combination of online and in-person classroom instruction, range and public road driving, and practical application of highway driving skills. Participants will receive both Theory and Behind-The-Wheel (BTW) training in compliance with Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements. Buses used for training do not have air brakes.
 
100% attendance is required to successfully complete the course.
 
Hours consist of on-line and in-person classroom instruction, range and public road driving, and practical application of skills used in highway driving to prepare new hires for taking the CDL skills exam and obtaining the Oklahoma State Department of Ed (SDE) School Bus Driver Certification and emphasizes safety.
 
Topics cover Basic Commercial Vehicle Operation, Safe Operating Procedures, Advanced Operating Practices, Vehicle Systems and Reporting Malfunctions, Non- Driving Actives, Human Trafficking Awareness, Student Loading and Unloading Procedures, Student Management, Highway-grade Railroad Crossing and Student Evacuation Procedures , Backing Maneuvers, and Public Roadway Driving.
 
*Training buses do not have air brakes. The cost of this class does not include the permit or skills exams.

The theory training will be 100% online from Monday, May 4, to Monday, May 11.
You must have your permit (CDL Class B with P&S Endorsements) and medical card on or before Friday, May 22.
Skills training will take place from 8 AM to 5 PM on the following dates: Wednesday, May 27- Friday, May 29.
 
More information about the May 26 class...
The theory training will be 100% online from Tuesday, May 26, to Tuesday, June 2.
You must have your permit (CDL Class B with P&S Endorsements) and medical card on or before Friday, June 12.
Skills training will take place from 8 AM to 5 PM on the following dates: Monday, June 15 - Wednesday, June 17.

The theory training will be 100% online from Wednesday, July 1, to Wednesday, July 8.
You must have your permit (CDL Class B with P&S Endorsements) and medical card on or before Friday, July 17.
Skills training will take place from 8 AM to 5 PM on the following dates: Monday, July - Wednesday, July 22.

*Students must be 16 years of age or older to enroll in short term classes.
