Summer Youth Academy is open to students entering sixth, seventh, or eighth grade. Classes are scheduled to run during four different weeks in June and fill up quickly. Each week has different class options. MNTC Summer Youth Academy is career-focused to engage students and connect with a future career.

Students may only enroll in one class per week. Enrollment is limited to 10-15 students depending on the class. Classes are taught by MNTC instructors and educators.

MNTC Summer Youth Academy 2026

Summer Youth Academy is open to students entering sixth, seventh, or eighth grade for 2026-2027.

Classes are $99/each and scheduled to run during different weeks in June from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each week has different classes to select from.

MNTC Summer Youth Academy is career-focused to engage students and connect with a future career.

Students may only enroll in one AM class and one PM class per week. Enrollment is limited to 10-15 students depending on the class and classes will fill up quickly. If a class does not have more than 5 enrollments, it may be canceled and parents will be notified one week in advance.

We recommend completing this form on a computer desktop or laptop device.

I hereby give and grant to the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE) and Moore Norman Technology Center (MNTC) the absolute and unconditional right to use, publish, display, and/or reproduce in any manner, video/recorded voice/photographs/written statements, in which I appear, including the right to edit or use a portion of such video/recorded voice/photographs/statements that positively promotes the image and benefits of vocational and technical education through any marketing/public relations/social media/promotional materials benefiting the ODCTE and MNTC.

I hereby waive any right, to inspect or approve the finished video/recorded voice/photographs/releases/statements, or any finished materials, copy or other matter, which may be used in conjunction with, or the manner in which any of the same are used, reproduced, published, or displayed.

Students will follow instructions provided by any staff member. If a student does not follow directions and is considered a danger to themselves or others, they will be excused from the program.

Refund Policyrequired

Summer Youth Academy classes will be refunded in full minus a $5 processing fee if class is dropped prior to the first day of class. No refunds will be given after the start of class. Refund requests must be made through MNTC Student Services by email at customer.inquiry@mntc.edu or by phone at 405.801.5000.

An introduction to the world of welding through a combination of classroom, safety, and hands-on skills culminating in a welding project.

Introduction to Veterinary Careers | Summer Youth Academy

In this short course you will learn about basic health care, grooming, behavior, training, safety, and first aid/ CPR of dogs and cats. These topics will help you be the best pet owner you can be. Students will get an introduction to veterinary science to learn how to prepare for a future career in animal health.

Fun With Aviation | Summer Youth Academy

Through hands-on activities, safety training, and expert-led sessions, students will explore aircraft systems, problem-solving, advanced scanning technologies, and 3D printing applications while discovering potential career paths. Join us for a dynamic blend of learning and fun as we ignite curiosity and inspire the next generation of aerospace enthusiasts!

ACRR Shop | Summer Youth Academy

Basic auto collision techniques and lessons such as locating damage and repair methods to be used. Main things will be showing students how to plastic welding and repair as well as glue pulled repair (GPR).

Fundamentals of Aviation | Summer Youth Academy

Aviation: Basic introduction to the 8 principles of Engineering. Focus on the four forces of flight, basic aerodynamics, aircraft components, and career exploration through hands-on STEM activities. Key topics include Bernoulli's principle, drone safety, aviation history (Wright Brothers), and navigation basics. Incorporate an enthusiasm for aviation

Shimmer & Shine Styling | Summer Youth Academy

Level up your hair game with this hands on class. Show your true colors with fun hair styles using hair gems, tinsel and more. Whether you are getting ready for a school spirit day or a just want to add some glitter and glam to your hairstyles this class will show you how.

Lights, Camera, Direction | Summer Youth Academy

In Directing, students will explore a highly creative leadership career option! Students will learn about script analysis, making impactful directing decisions, time management and organization, teaching and coaching others, and more.

Glow Getter Class | Summer Youth Academy

Discover the art of personal grooming and styling! This fun, hands-on course explores the basics of cosmetology, including hair washing and styling, braiding, curling, straightening, basic nail art and skin care. Students will learn on mannequins as well as practice on each other to build confidence in a salon-like environment.
