Education is more important than ever, and financial resources are available to help you succeed. Financial aid is available to adult students attending career programs that are more than 600 hours of instruction. Moore Norman Technology Center does not participate in any Student Loan program.

Reminders

Absences – * Financial Aid students may have different guidelines, please see page 25 of Student Handbook for Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards for Federal Financial Aid.

For successful program completion, a student’s absences may not exceed 10 days per semester. Students starting after the first day of classes may have less than the ten days of allowed absences. A day is defined as the class period a student is enrolled each day. § A student who exceeds ten (10) days per semester and is passing their program will receive a “no grade” (NG). The student will be withdrawn from school. Students who violate the attendance policy will not be allowed to enroll for the following regular semester, including summer school, if the violation occurs during the spring semester.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards for Federal Financial Aid – Once the applicant begins attending an approved program and eligibility has been established, to continue to receive federal financial aid, the financial aid office is required by federal regulations to make certain that students are making satisfactory academic progress (SAP).

You are required to complete all hours in the pay period, maintain a “C” average and have 90% attendance per pay period. SAP will be checked by the financial aid office at the end of each pay period. You are required to complete all hours in your payment period to be eligible for your disbursements. If you have not completed the coursework your disbursement will be delayed and/or canceled.

The Moore Norman Technology District attendance policy states that “all” students may not miss more than ten (10) days per semester. Financial aid attendance policy is 90% per pay period. Students not maintaining 90% per pay period will lose financial aid eligibility.

MNTC Aviation Maintenance Technology Tuition Assistance

The AMT Tuition Assistance has been established to provide educational opportunities for eligible citizens who reside within Cleveland County. This covers tuition for Moore Norman Technology Center Aviation Maintenance Technology program (including General, Airframe and Powerplant). The AMT Tuition Assistance is available for the February 2024 and August 2024 cohort start dates up to the amount of $10,000.00.

Student Eligibility: The MNTC Financial Aid Coordinator will verify eligibility once student has been accepted.

Student must meet items #1, #2 AND #3:

1. Acceptance in AMT program.

2. Applicant must live in Cleveland County.

3. Complete a FAFSA application form online at www.studentaid.gov.

Performance and Behavior

Make satisfactory progress towards completion of the program or course.
Stay in compliance with the AMT attendance policy, if applicable to course.
Have no disciplinary problems.
Students may be placed on probation for violating terms of AMT Tuition Assistance.
Continued violations will cause a loss of assistance benefits and require payment of applicable tuition.

Tuition Assistance does not cover the expense for certain fees, books, certifications, clothing, tools, or other required classroom expenses.

The Joseph Barnard Memorial Scholarship is available to a MNTC student enrolled in any career program.

Walt Morris Memorial Scholarship

Applicants should be graduating high school seniors from MNTC or first-year adults completing their high school senior year. One applicant will be awarded a $500 scholarship.

MNTC Tuition Assistance

Request Tuition Assistance

Purpose

Moore Norman Technology Center (MNTC) recognizes the importance of providing access to quality career and technical education. The MNTC Tuition Assistance program has been established to provide educational opportunities for eligible citizens twenty-one years of age or younger on the first day of each class who reside in the MNTC district. The Tuition Assistance program will cover tuition for Moore Norman Technology Center full-time programs and eligible short-term courses* that prepare students for a new career; develop new and emerging job skills; ease workforce transition; and/or enhance career development. The MNTC Tuition Assistance program is available for full-time programs and/or short-term courses up to the amount of $4,000.00.

Student Eligibility

Student must meet items #1, #2 AND #3 OR #4:

Applicant must be twenty-one years of age or younger on the first day of each class.
Applicant must live in the Moore Norman Technology Center school district.
Adult students must have a high school diploma from a Norman or Moore public school, an accredited virtual high school, or the graduation equivalent (EX: GED or HISET) to be eligible.
OR
High school students or students working on their high school equivalency are eligible for short-term courses provided they are in good standing and on track to earn a diploma.

Performance and Behavior

COVID-19 Emergency Grant for Spring, 2020 Adult Students
At MNTC, we understand that the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic impact has caused financial hardship for many of our students. Through the COVID-19 Emergency Grant, we are providing financial assistance to our adult students who have been economically impacted by this.

In order for MNTC to determine if you would be eligible for a payment through the emergency funds process, you would need to qualify through FASFA or complete the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief (HEERF) Grant Self-Certification Form. You must meet the criteria listed below:

Be enrolled or accepted in a degree or certificate program approved for financial aid.
Not be enrolled in Elementary or Secondary School.
For currently enrolled students, be making satisfactory academic progress.
Not owe an over payment on Title IV grants or loans.
Not be in default on a Title IV loans.
Be a United States citizen or national, permanent resident or other eligible non-citizen for Title IV Federal Aid.
Not have fraudulently received Title IV loans in excess of annual or aggregate limits.
Have returned fraudulently obtained Title IV funds if convicted of, or pled guilty of or no contest to charges.
Have repaid Title IV amounts in excess of annual or aggregate limits if obtained inadvertently.
Have registered for Selective Service. (Males only).
Have a valid and verifiable Social Security Number.
Not have a federal or state conviction for drug possession or sale, with certain time limitations.

By signing the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief (HEERF) Grant Self-Certification Form, you are also stating that you have expenses related to COVID-19 as a result of moving to distance learning. Examples include, but are not limited to:

Child-care expenses

VA Educational Benefits

Military Veterans’ Assistance

All students utilizing VA benefits must submit a current certificate of eligibility for VA programs and all prior transcripts/training records to be evaluated, whether or not advanced standing is awarded. No penalties or late fees will be assessed for VA students awaiting payment from the VA for students that have turned in a Certificate of Eligibility for VA Educational Benefits. Moore Norman Technology Center is compliant with PL 115-407, in regards to the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018.

If a student is called up to active duty during the semester, they may request an exempted leave of absence. If the active duty extends past MNTC exemption of absence period (refer to pg. 12 of the Student Handbook) the student will be withdrawn from the program. Financial Aid, and/or VA funds may need to be returned to their respective federal departments. The student, to include service members and reservists, may apply for re-admission and request advanced standing if applicable (will be determined by the instructor) when they return. Students will only be charged for work needed to complete the remaining portion of the program. VA beneficiaries could be in debt to the VA if they withdraw or are terminated early.

Veterans or qualified family members may use their VA Educational Benefits at MNTC while attending one of our ODVA SAA Approved courses. A list of all ODVA SAA Approved courses are listed below.

Assistance provided to qualifying individuals on tribal rolls. Each tribe handles assistance through their tribal area offices. To find out the location of your tribe, contact Carolyn Edwards-Johnson. Grants may be available for tuition, supplies, and living expenses.

State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation

This is a program that is available to assist individuals with physical or mental disabilities. Services include testing, psychological evaluation, medical examination, and counseling services. In some cases Vocational Rehabilitation pays tuition, fees, books, and supply costs.
