Architectural/Mechanical Drafting & Design

Adults & High School Juniors and Seniors

CADD drafters and technicians have formal training in drafting and have experience using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software. Prepare to work as a drafting technician, engineer, architectural technician, or designer. Work toward an AutoDesk Associate certification, and earn professional certifications in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit.

Program Highlights

Invent and design solutions to everyday challenges by working collaboratively to generate, pitch, and execute innovative ideas
Visualize and construct 3D models and prototypes for architectural and mechanical designs
Create products using the same design, drafting, and 3D printing as professional engineers and architects

Aviation Maintenance Technology (Adult)

Adult Students Only

Inspect and perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration of aircraft and aircraft systems. You’ll graduate with the skills and experience required to pass the Airframe Mechanic and the Powerplant Mechanic exams administered by the FAA. MNTC’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program is certified under Part 147 of the Federal Aviation Regulations and offers FAA-approved and supervised curriculum.

Program Highlights

Conduct pre-flight inspections, engine start-ups, and taxi aircraft as a key part of ground operations
Perform hands-on routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration of aircraft and aircraft systems
Inspect, repair, and overhaul airframe and powerplant components

Aviation Maintenance Technology (High School)

High School Juniors Only

Inspect and perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alteration of aircraft and aircraft systems. Students graduate with the skills and experience required to pass the General written exam administered by the FAA. To complete the entire A&P program with certification, high school graduates will need to enroll as an adult full-time for 13 months to complete the Airframe and Powerplant sections and will gain the skills and experience required to pass the Airframe Mechanic and the Powerplant Mechanic exams administered by the FAA. MNTC's Aviation Maintenance Technology program is certified under Part 147 of the Federal Aviation Regulations and offers FAA-approved and supervised curriculum.

Biomedical

High School Juniors and Seniors

PLTW Biomedical students are taking on real-world challenges, and they’re doing it before graduating from high school. Working with the same tools used by professionals in labs and hospitals, as a laboratories student, you will engage in compelling, hands-on activities and collaborate on teams to find solutions to problems. PLTW Biomedical empowers you to build knowledge and skills in biomedical studies, make presentations, and develop transportable skills like problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, and collaboration.

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is the curriculum used to teach this program.

Experience hands-on activities in forensic science, anatomy, cell biology, disease research, organic chemistry, and genetic engineering
Design, conduct, and analyze a wide range of scientific experiments to solve medical mysteries
Step into the roles of biomedical science professionals to manipulate and diagnose laboratory-grown molecules, cells, tissues, and organs

Carpentry

Adults & High School Juniors and Seniors

Skilled carpenters are needed to meet the ongoing demand for new housing, office, and retail space. You’ll estimate and order building materials, prepare, assemble, and install materials using hand and power tools, and construct a custom-project home. Train as a cabinetmaker or residential carpenter, and earn an OSHA 10 Card and a General Induction Card for on-site work. Work as a cabinetmaker, frame carpenter, or residential carpenter.

Program Highlights

Work in all aspects of residential and commercial construction including estimating, framing, roofing, interior finishing, and cabinetmaking
Build a modular residential home from the ground up and operate a wide range of hand and power tools
Work individually and in teams to design and build professional projects

Machinists use lathes, milling machines, and machining centers to produce metal parts that meet precise specifications. You will learn Computerized Numerical Controls to become a CNC operator or machinist, and prepare for the NIMS Certified Machine Technician exam.

Electrical Trades and journeymen work for licensed electrical contractors. You will design, build, and troubleshoot motor control systems. Learn residential, commercial, and industrial construction wiring methods. Successful completion of the curriculum prepares you for state electrical examinations.

Control electricity to power the world while earning apprenticeship experience toward a journeyman's license

Engineering (High School)

Engineering

High School Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors

MNTC Engineering is a college preparatory program for those interested in an engineering career. Students apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Engineers design products, machinery, factories, systems, efficiency, and manufacturing processes that ensure the quality of the products they help design. This knowledge is used to design, plan, and supervise the construction of buildings, highways, and transit systems. Students can complete five engineering courses in the two year program, and possibly up to seven in the four-year, freshman entry program available at Norman, Norman North, Moore, Westmoore, and Southmoore High Schools.

HVAC/R

Adults & High School Juniors and Seniors

Heat and air technicians who have training from an accredited technical school have excellent job prospects. Learn residential and light-commercial systems, installations, maintenance, and repair. Train to become an HVAC/R Technician, obtain EPA 608 certification, I.C.E. certification, an Oklahoma State Apprentice license, and OSHA 10 General Safety certification, and work anywhere in the United States.

Program Highlights

Create comfortable environments by cooling and heating the interior of residential and commercial buildings
Design, fabricate, install, and maintain heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems
Torch, braze, and solder pipes and fittings to install or repair compressors, condensers, chillers, and pumps

Discover all aspects of building maintenance and groundskeeping. You will gain skills with hands-on learning on a wide range of live-work projects, and work with indoor and outdoor power tools and machines. You may focus your training to become a building maintenance assistant or technician, a groundskeeper, or groundskeeper assistant.

Perform building and facilities maintenance, including basic repairs

Adults & High School Juniors and Seniors

Welders can advance to jobs like welding technician, supervisor, inspector, or instructor. Some experienced welders open their own shops. Train in all phases of welding and study properties of metals and principles of fusion. Learn techniques for gas and arc welding, pipe welding and cutting, blueprint reading, and plasma arc cutting.

Manipulate molten metal and electricity to design and construct the products people use every day
Use a wide range of welding techniques to join, cut, and bend metal for industrial applications
