Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Sonographers use equipment that directs high frequency sound waves into a patient’s body that reflect echoes and forms an image that may be videotaped, transmitted, or photographed for diagnosis by a physician. During patient scans, you will look for subtle clues that contrast healthy against unhealthy areas by taking measurements, calculating values, and analyzing the results into a preliminary finding report. The MNTC DMS program specializes in the following concentrations: Abdominal sonography-extended and Obstetrics and gynecology sonography. Certification exams for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS include: Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI), Abdomen (AB), and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).

MNTC Announces October Student of the Month, Adult

The Moore Norman Technology Center Foundation is proud to announce the October MNTC Student of the Month (Adult) Hanna Crabtree for her academic achievements, leadership, and attitudes. 

Hanna, who will graduate from the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program next month, was recognized by instructor Heather Stacy, for her positive outlook and leadership. Hanna exemplifies the school's core values, consistently acting with integrity and building strong relationships with classmates, instructors, and clinical preceptors. Self-motivated and focused, Hanna excels in both academics and clinical practice, often helping peers with challenging concepts.

Completion of the application does not constitute admission to Moore Norman Technology Center. All applicants will receive written notification once the status of their application has been determined.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • The application period for the next  DMS class opens 9:00 a.m. on January 20, 2026.
  • Online applications for the next DMS class must be submitted by April 10, 2026
  • All items on the requirement checklist must be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m. on May 22, 2026.
