CADD drafters and technicians have formal training in drafting and have experience using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software. Prepare to work as a drafting technician, engineer, architectural technician, or designer. Work toward an AutoDesk Associate certification, and earn professional certifications in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit.

 

Most jobs for Advanced Unlicensed Assistants (AUA) are in acute-care settings such as in hospitals. Build your confidence while training in a simulated laboratory setting and gain entry-level employment in the health field as an AUA. You’ll have the opportunity to conduct clinical observations and work directly with patients. Upon completion, you may gain entry-level employment as an AUA.

 

Automotive collision technicians are trained in automotive body repair and refinishing. Students in this program learn how to repair damaged bodies and parts of vehicles by straightening, removing dents and replacing damaged auto body parts. Develop skills to become a Collision Non-structural Repair & Refinishing Technician, and prepare to take the I-CAR Certification. Train in a modern, updated facility with industry-standard tools and equipment. The industry standard curriculum and experiences help prepare students to complete the program with student ASE certifications.

 

Auto service technicians who possess diagnostic and problem-solving skills and have a mechanical aptitude can take advantage of excellent employment opportunities. Become an Automotive Service Technician student and prepare to earn ASE Certifications. Explore the latest technologies to diagnose vehicle concerns regarding engines, automatic and manual transmissions, steering and suspension, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance systems.

 

Inspect and perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alteration of aircraft and aircraft systems.  Students graduate with the skills and experience required to pass the General written exam administered by the FAA. To complete the entire A&P program with certification, high school graduates will need to enroll as an adult full-time for 13 months to complete the Airframe and Powerplant sections and will gain the skills and experience required to pass the Airframe Mechanic and the Powerplant Mechanic exams administered by the FAA.  MNTC's Aviation Maintenance Technology program is certified under Part 147 of the Federal Aviation Regulations and offers FAA-approved and supervised curriculum.

As a CLEET-authorized technology center, MNTC provides a new route to becoming a certified basic peace officer. Our curriculum meets all CLEET-mandated basic peace officer requirements and includes training in the following areas:

 

PLTW Biomedical students are taking on real-world challenges, and they’re doing it before graduating from high school. Working with the same tools used by professionals in labs and hospitals, as a laboratories student, you will engage in compelling, hands-on activities and collaborate on teams to find solutions to problems. PLTW Biomedical empowers you to build knowledge and skills in biomedical studies, make presentations, and develop transportable skills like problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, and collaboration.

 

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is the curriculum used to teach this program.

 

Skilled carpenters are needed to meet the ongoing demand for new housing, office, and retail space. You’ll estimate and order building materials, prepare, assemble, and install materials using hand and power tools, and construct a custom-project home. Train as a cabinetmaker or residential carpenter, and earn an OSHA 10 Card and a General Induction Card for on-site work. Work as a cabinetmaker, frame carpenter, or residential carpenter.

 

Machinists use lathes, milling machines, and machining centers to produce metal parts that meet precise specifications. You will learn Computerized Numerical Controls to become a CNC operator or machinist, and prepare for the NIMS Certified Machine Technician exam.

 

Cosmetologists offer services such as shampooing, cutting, coloring and styling hair. You will work on clients in MNTC’s full-service salon and prepare to take the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology exam to work as a cosmetologist. The daytime program is only available to junior high school students as a two year program. High school seniors can not apply.

Students will prepare to become an instructor of cosmetology in accordance with Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology mandates and be eligible to sit for the Master Instructor Exam. The Master Cosmetologist Student will work with the MNTC instructor(s) and be guided to teach cosmetology courses to future students. This may include but is not limited to, assisting in delivering course content in the areas of skin, hair, and nails in addition to grading students’ work, exams, and supervising student’s time with clients in the salon on campus.

 

In this dynamic program, students gain the foundational skills needed to launch a career in cybersecurity and IT support. Start with core cybersecurity principles—how to identify and respond to cyberattacks, secure networked systems, and protect sensitive data. Next get hands-on practice into computer hardware, operating systems, basic networking, and preparing for real-world technical support roles. This course fully maps to CompTIA’s A+ Core 1 and Core 2 certification objectives, giving students the knowledge and skills to troubleshoot, maintain, and secure today's technology. Ideal for students interested in entering the workforce or continuing in advanced cybersecurity studies.

Adults & High School Juniors and Seniors

 

Develop the knowledge and skills required to configure, manage, and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks with a strong emphasis on network security during this program. Learn how to identify and mitigate common network vulnerabilities, implement secure network protocols, and follow industry best practices for safeguarding network infrastructure. The hands-on experience with common networking devices and tools, will provide students with the experience to maintain accurate network documentation, identify performance issues, and support enterprise solutions such as cloud and virtualization technologies. This course aligns with the latest CompTIA Network+ (N10-009) certification objectives and helps prepare students for success in both the exam and the cybersecurity-focused IT workforce.

 

Sonographers use equipment that directs high frequency sound waves into a patient’s body that reflect echoes and forms an image that may be videotaped, transmitted, or photographed for diagnosis by a physician. During patient scans, you will look for subtle clues that contrast healthy against unhealthy areas by taking measurements, calculating values, and analyzing the results into a preliminary finding report. The MNTC DMS program specializes in the following concentrations: Abdominal sonography-extended and Obstetrics and gynecology sonography. Certification exams for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS include: Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI), Abdomen (AB), and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).

 

Receive hands-on training with 4K cinema and HD television equipment to learn all aspects of script-to-screen production including: direction, cinematography, field audio, lighting, Avid Media Composer editing, color grading, graphics, and post-production sound. Two-year class participation includes numerous production crew shoots as well as the completion of narrative short films.

 

Electrical Trades and journeymen work for licensed electrical contractors. You will design, build, and troubleshoot motor control systems. Learn residential, commercial, and industrial construction wiring methods. Successful completion of the curriculum prepares you for state electrical examinations.

 

MNTC Engineering is a college preparatory program for those interested in an engineering career. Students apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Engineers design products, machinery, factories, systems, efficiency, and manufacturing processes that ensure the quality of the products they help design. This knowledge is used to design, plan, and supervise the construction of buildings, highways, and transit systems. Students can complete five engineering courses in the two year program, and possibly up to seven in the four-year, freshman entry program available at Norman, Norman North, Moore, Westmoore, and Southmoore High Schools.

 

Esthetics offer services such as provide skincare treatments to face and body to enhance an individual's appearance. Includes electrologists and laser hair removal specialists. You will work on clients in MNTC’s full-service salon and prepare to take the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology exam to work as an esthetician. The daytime program is only available to junior and senior high school students as a one year program.

 

Graphic designers are visual communicators and amazing problem solvers. Designers create artwork targeted to specific audiences, which can be found on the grocery aisle, on the side of the highway, online, and on menus — design is literally everywhere! Prepare to earn national certifications while learning Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and work exclusively with Apple and Adobe products.

 

Students use artistic, illustrative, and design talent to help small business and local community organizations. Experience versatile projects and a creative environment to develop a professional design portfolio in both digital and print design.

 

Start your health and medical or nursing career by preparing for two state certifications: Long-Term Care Nurse Assistant and Home Health Care Nurse Assistant. This class provides core knowledge based on the Oklahoma State Department of Health Guidelines. Upon certification, you can begin your career as a Long Term and Home Health Care Nurse Assistant, and additionally you are prepared to continue your education in the health care industry. Nursing Assistants perform delegated tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Nurse Assistants focus on the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the resident and their family.

 

Heat and air technicians who have training from an accredited technical school have excellent job prospects. Learn residential and light-commercial systems, installations, maintenance, and repair. Train to become an HVAC/R Technician, obtain EPA 608 certification, I.C.E. certification, an Oklahoma State Apprentice license, and OSHA 10 General Safety certification, and work anywhere in the United States.

 

Legal administrative assistants and receptionists provide vital administrative support in attorney offices, corporate legal offices, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Discover legal terminology, legal research, the use of legal forms and documents, filing, and scheduling. Gain an understanding of basic legal concepts in several areas of law, and prepare for the Accredited Legal Professional (ALP) Certification.

 

In Medical Assisting you will get hands-on experience that can be utilized in administrative and clinical health care settings. Learn a variety of skills in the program’s simulated-physician’s office, and discover how to take vital signs, administer injections, draw blood, perform electrocardiograms, change sterile dressings, and assist with minor office duties. You will attend 160 hours of unpaid practicum in a physician’s office, and after successful completion of the program, you are eligible to test for a certification in medical assisting. The certification will also earn you 28 credit hours of prior learning experience at Oklahoma City Community College.

 

Demand is strong for medical office health care professionals. Gain an understanding of serving and meeting the needs of patients in a medical clinic or hospital office setting. Learn to multi-task while managing health information in a computerized office environment. 

 

Nail Care offer services such as cleaning, treating, polishing, augmenting and decorating nails. You will work on clients in MNTC’s full-service salon and prepare to take the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology exam to work as a manicurist. The daytime program is only available to junior and senior high school students as a one year program. High school seniors can not apply.

 

Physical therapy aides perform components of physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected by a supervising physical therapist. Experience in-class instruction, conduct clinical observations, and perform direct patient care during internships. You will also prepare to earn a physical therapy aide certification from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).

This hands-on Python and Artificial Intelligence (AI) program introduces the power of coding and machine learning through real-world applications. Start by building a strong foundation in Python programming, then apply that knowledge using tools like Hugging Face Transformers and Google Colab to explore sentiment analysis, image classification, text generation, and more. Through creative projects and industry-style challenges, students take on the role of AI engineers—developing practical solutions, analyzing data, and building intelligent systems that solve meaningful problems.

 

Discover all aspects of building maintenance and groundskeeping. You will gain skills with hands-on learning on a wide range of live-work projects, and work with indoor and outdoor power tools and machines. You may focus your training to become a building maintenance assistant or technician, a groundskeeper, or groundskeeper assistant.

 

Surgical Technologists function as a member of the sterile surgical team in the scrub role, and are responsible for establishing and maintaining the sterile field throughout the entire surgery. You will train to handle the instrumentation, supplies, and equipment necessary for all surgical procedures, and will have an understanding of each of the procedures being performed in order to anticipate the needs of the surgeon. 

 

Learn basic care of small and large animals, and entry level nursing skills for laboratory assisting, and surgical nursing. Students gain hands-on experience in guided learning scenarios and during clinical rotation while working directly with veterinary teams in our community.
