  • July 19, 2016 – The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) recently awarded the Safe Schools Leadership Award to Jerry McConnell, facility and operations director at Moore Norman Technology Center. The award was presented July 14 during the 26th Annual NASRO School Safety Conference held in Anaheim, Calif.

    The Safe Schools Leadership Award recognizes those who further the SRO partnerships within their communities and who show leadership in taking proactive measures to enhance school safety.

  • July 7, 2016 – Moore Norman Technology Center’s Small Business Management Coordinator Henry Dumas recently earned the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) designation through the International Coach Federation. The IFC credential is recommended for those who perform business coaching as a part of their profession. Dumas assists in the growth and education of all MNTC Business Development Center clients and with local business clients of MNTC. 

  • July 6, 2016 -- Moore Norman Technology Center is taking enrollments in two medical-related courses that begin this August.

  • ​June 29, 2016 – Moore Norman Technology Center’s new Business Development Center client, Ncite Partners, is focused on matching businesses with exceptional job seekers in specific industries nationwide.

  • June 23, 2016 -- Moore Norman Technology Center has several dessert classes set to begin in June and July. Classes are held at MNTC’s South Penn Campus located at the corner of SW 134th and Penn Ave. in south Oklahoma City, unless noted otherwise.

  • May 24, 2016 -- Moore Norman Technology Center Accounting Services graduate Shasta Feuerborn was awarded the Nancy Liner Accounting Memorial Scholarship during a Business Professionals of America award ceremony last week at MNTC. The scholarship recognizes a student who demonstrates excellence in the Accounting Services curriculum.

  • May 23, 2016 – Moore Norman Technology Center full-time students have earned high rankings at state and national-level skills contests this spring semester through their student organizations.

    Each national student organization allows first-through-third place state contest winners compete in their national contests, with the exception of SkillsUSA, where only first place winners move ahead to the national competition.

  • May 20, 2016 — Last evening Moore Norman Technology Center honored 470 graduates before their family, friends, administrators, faculty and staff at First Moore Baptist Church in Moore.

    MNTC Superintendent Jane Bowen welcomed the crowd as MNTC Board President Joan Barker and members Dr. Max Venard, Pam Lewis, Glen Cosper and Andy Sherrer looked on. Bowen noted that the economic impact of the graduating class over their lifetimes will be in excess of $100 million.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) May 18, 2016 -- Moore Norman Technology Center will host an Oklahoma Blood Institute public blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 23 at MNTC's South Penn Campus located at the corner of SW 134th and Penn Ave. in south Oklahoma City. It is estimated that each single blood donation provides a life-saving benefit to three lives in Oklahoma.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) May 16, 2016 – Business and Industry Services Coordinator Terri Pickering of Moore Norman Technology Center recently earned the PACE Outstanding Training Project Award for an effort she developed with the FAA Credit Union to train employees. PACE is an statewide organization comprised of advocates for post-secondary adult career education.

  • Each spring, the Moore Norman Technology Center chapter of the National Technical Honor Society recognizes outstanding student achievement in career and technical education.  This spring 235 MNTC students were honored for their academic excellence, character qualities, and work ethic.

  • ​(NORMAN, Okla.) April 29, 2016 – Two students from Moore Norman Technology Center’s Surgical Technology class were recently presented with the Jamie M. Rogers Memorial Scholarship. Vanessa Aguilera and Jessica Wren each received $500 through the scholarships, which may be used at their discretion. Mike and Nancy Rogers, Jamie’s parents, presented the awards.

  • Moore Norman Technology Center’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is currently offering 3D and 4D scans for women during their third trimester of pregnancy. For $20, expectant mothers have an opportunity to receive a non-diagnostic ultrasound during their third trimester of pregnancy. It also gives current students an opportunity to perform scans under the supervision of a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. Scans performed by MNTC students should not take the place of medical ultrasounds as ordered by the patient's OB physician. They are supplemental and non-diagnostic.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 27, 2016 – The Norman Kiwanis Club and Moore Rotary Club have selected two students from Moore Norman Technology Center to honor as April students of the month.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 15, 2016 --Moore Norman Technology Center’s Digital Video Production and Graphic Design classes will host the 8th annual Red Carpet Film Festival at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Sooner Theatre in Norman. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Tickets may be purchased by cash or check at MNTC’s Franklin Road Campus inside the IT Building, or call 364-5763, ext. 4120 for more information.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 12, 2016 -- Moore Norman Technology Center Pre-Engineering students Grant Eckstein and Reza Torbati earned third place in a computer programming contest sponsored by the OU Gallogly College of Engineering School of Computer Science on April 9 held at the Devon Energy Hall.

    Both are Norman High School students, with Eckstein being a freshman and Torbati a sophomore and a second-year student in MNTC’s Pre-Engineering program.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 12, 2016 – Students in Moore Norman Technology Center’s Career Exploration Education program have worked most of this school year to assist Second Chance Animal Sanctuary in Norman with raising funds, getting donations, purchasing pet supplies themselves and most importantly, growing in their understanding of what service means by giving of their time and hard work.

  • ­(NORMAN, Okla.) April 7, 2016 -- Electrical & Automated Industrial Systems Instructor Kevin Gunter has been named the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Technology Schools Teacher of the Year representing Moore Norman Technology Center.

    He and many others who work in public and technical education took honors in multiple categories and received their awards during the SOKC Chamber’s annual Excellence in Education award banquet last week held at MNTC’s South Penn Campus.
