Sept. 19, 2018 -- Moore Norman Technology Center recently earned certification through the National College Testing Association based in Clearwater Beach, Fla.
MNTC’s Assessment Center, located at the Franklin Road Campus in Norman, met 11 standards to qualify for certification including details such as providing floor plans of the testing site, procedures of the testing center that follow NCTA standards, submitting a copy of the policies and procedures that protect confidentiality and the rights of privacy for examinees.
MNTC Assessment Coordinator Linda Little said, “While several colleges in Oklahoma have been certified, Moore Norman Technology Center is the first to receive the NCTA Test Center Certification within Oklahoma’s CareerTech system.”
More than 200 Centers across the United States and Canada have been certified since 2010 and according to ncta.org, the benefits of certification include:
Little said, “I’m very proud of MNTC and my staff for obtaining the NCTA Certification for the MNTC Assessment Center. The certification is a lengthy and in-depth process that requires documented proof and a site visit.
“Our Assessment Center meets requirements in areas such as: test security, test integrity, training, professional development, confidentiality, documentation, secure records storage, monitoring, and evaluation.”
There are also key physical requirements such as testing stations, technology, lighting, temperature and noise reduction that must be met to qualify for certification.
