(NORMAN, Okla.) June 5, 2017 – The application deadline for Moore Norman Technology Center’s Practical Nursing program is extended to close of business on June 19. The next session begins in August.
Practical Nursing is an intensive 11 or 16-month program that prepares students to care for ill, injured, convalescent and disabled patients in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, private homes, long term care facilities, other medical care facilities and has a required clinical site performance component. Duties vary depending on each state’s nurse practice regulations.
MNTC’s Practical Nursing program prepares students for the National Council Licensure Examination for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Graduates may also qualify for direct articulation into Associate Degree nursing programs at some Oklahoma colleges, pending acceptance to the college and its nursing program, with any number of credit hours awarded to be determined by the individual college.
MNTC’s PN program is full-or-part time and has day and evening options for students. Classes are held at the Franklin Road Campus in Norman. Those interested must be 18 years of age at the time of application and must have completed a college-level Medical Terminology course. Additionally, a background check is required.
