Sept. 13, 2017 -- Moore Norman Technology Center’s annual Frank S. Coulter Memorial Golf Tournament was held Monday at the Belmar Golf Club in Norman. Dozens of local businesses and individuals showed their support of MNTC's mission through their financial sponsorship of the event.
This is the 12th year of the fundraising effort for MNTC, which over the years has generated over $100,000. The funds are used to help MNTC students with needs that would otherwise keep them from completing their career program. This year MNTC had 34 sponsors and 30 four-member teams play in the tournament.
A committee consisting of two MNTC administrators and a representative for the Foundation assesses scholarship applications. Granted scholarships are used for necessary items like certification exams, tuition, books and supplies. Scholarships may also be used for personal student issues such as housing, utility services, vehicle repair and gasoline.
This year’s corporate and independent team sponsors represent Norman, Moore and Oklahoma City. There were four team sponsorship levels ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 and hole sponsorships starting at $600.
Platinum Level $3,000: ARVEST Bank and The Stacy Group.
Gold Level $2,000: Reynolds Ford of Norman.
Silver Level $1,500: AC Owen Construction and Manhattan Construction.
