April 26, 2018 – The Moore Homebuilders Association recently awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to students enrolled in Moore Norman Technology Center full-time construction trades programs. Scholarships went to four high school students and four adult students.
Scholarship awards went to:
Carpentry: Southmoore High School senior Christian Beltz and Christopher Bittle.
Computer Aided Design & Drafting: Westmoore High School senior Emma Trowbridge and Tracy Schinn.
Electrical Apprentice: Westmoore High School junior Joseph Cunningham and William Luke Smitherman.
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration: Moore High School senior Cameron Wilson and James Logan Gregory.
MNTC Technical Careers Assistant Director Terry Williamson thanked MHBA President Marvin Haworth of Marvin Haworth Homes in Moore. He said the MHBA has been instrumental in financially supporting MNTC students for many years, but that their generosity in providing eight $1,000 scholarships is overwhelming. Williamson thanked them for their continued partnership with MNTC and financial support of its construction trades programs.
The scholarship money may be used to purchase tools, and pay for costs covering tuition and/or books for continuing education.
