Moore Norman Technology Center Honors Board of Education in January

School Boards Make a World of Difference

January 5, 2017 – January is School Board Recognition Month, an opportunity for local schools and communities to honor more than 2,700 elected school board members for their dedication to Oklahoma schools and education.

“We are so proud of what Moore Norman Technology Center provides to the community,” said Jane Bowen, MNTC superintendent. “School Board Recognition Month is an opportunity for us to thank our elected board members and celebrate their commitment and accomplishments. Their contribution of time and professional expertise is a vital part of our continued success.”

At MNTC, school board members must develop policies and make decisions that have an impact on high school and adult students as well as the work force that serves businesses within the district. The MNTC district includes Moore, Norman, and south Oklahoma City.

“Being a technology center school board member is a complex commitment that involves overseeing a broad range of programs that serve a very wide sector of Moore, Norman, and south Oklahoma City,” added Bowen. “We really cannot thank them enough for their tireless dedication.”

In additional to traditional technical training for high school students and adults who are just beginning their career, MNTC creates and offers programs designed to help working adults improve their skills or change careers, businesses train their workforce, and small businesses succeed through management consultation and training services.

The MNTC board of education will be formally recognized for their service at their January board meeting.
