The mission of Moore Norman Technology Center is to prepare students for success, change lives and help build better tomorrows. The Assessment Center supports the MNTC Mission by administering certification, licensure, entry-level testing, skills and competency exams to our clients. The MNTC Assessment Center further strives to provide professional services to our clients by adhering to the NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines.
Our Assessment Center provides a full range of assessments including testing to determine classroom readiness for career programs, health certification testing, industry certification testing, end of instruction competency testing and SkillsUSA testing.

ACCUPLACER is used to determine classroom readiness for prospective students entering MNTC Career Programs. MNTC Career Advisors and Tech Representatives refer students to the MNTC Assessment Center for the appropriate testing. Testing appointments are scheduled once a referral has been received. In a cooperative effort between the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the Oklahoma Department of Career & Technology Education, college credit can be earned though Prior Learning Assessments for an approved license or credential a student accomplishes while at Moore Norman Technology Center.
All MNTC students (high school and adult) who are enrolled in a program that offers an approved license or credential may have the opportunity to receive college credit upon completion of their program. Our College Connection office will work with students to explain the process, so students can earn college credit toward an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or a technical college certificate at area colleges.

MNTC provides student-centered counseling by certified and licensed professional counselors. Counselors facilitate student development in the academic, career, and personal/social areas through a highly individualized approach. Services include crisis intervention, community referrals, and individual and group counseling to assist with personal and professional growth.
All information disclosed to counselors is confidential, with the exception of immediate threat or serious or foreseeable harm to self or identified others, suspicion of child abuse or neglect, or court-ordered disclosure.

Moore Norman Technology Center takes measures to ensure every student has opportunities to excel in their coursework; while providing students with the support from the counseling and instructional teams. MNTC has on-site counselors assigned to each program, who are available to help students develop plans related to academic and/or personal needs.
School guidance counselors are state certified professionals who hold a master’s degree in counseling. They continue their professional development by attending workshops and conferences on an ongoing basis, and their role is to help students fully develop their academic, career, personal, and social abilities.
School guidance counselors are educators who deliver a comprehensive guidance program in the school as recommended by the American School Counseling Association (ASCA). Counselors also adhere to strict ethical and legal standards in the performance of these duties. School guidance counselor functions:
MNTC’s Guidance Program mission is to serve a diverse population both in age, education, and work experience by partnering with Moore Norman faculty and community stakeholders. The mission is to graduate students with the understanding and insight necessary to achieve their personal, education, career, and social potential throughout their lifetime.
The guidance professionals at MNTC facilitate personal/social development, career development, and academic development in connection with each student’s career education, and is based on the national standards adopted by the American School Counseling Association (ASCA).
MNTC also has an on-site Guidance Team. This group of professionals consists of several departments with qualified staff who are available to assist students with a wide range of needs on campus.
MNTC is committed to the goal of achieving equal educational opportunities, offering full participation for students with disabilities, and providing assistance that will facilitate students’ independence and academic progress. Students who have disabilities, including those with mobility limitations, speech, hearing, or sight impairment, learning or other disabilities covered by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or the ADA Amendments Act of 2008, may receive reasonable educational STUDENT INFORMATION 9 accommodations.
Disability Services provides guidance and referrals during the enrollment process, and assists with
appropriate classroom, lab, and learning support for students with hearing loss that impacts education. A student may have access to an interpreter, trained note-takers, or tutors in lecture and lab settings.
To request accommodations, students with disabilities should go directly to MNTC’s Disability Coordinator or to an MNTC Counselor or Career Advisor. All disabilities must be verified with current supporting documentation from an appropriate professional (licensed physician, licensed psychologist, approved agency, etc.). Records of accommodation activity are kept separate from all admissions activity.
